Tumblr Post

Savannah just posted an entry on Tumblr about today’s gig at the Billboard Music Awards and how thankful she is for all her fans. The entry is on her Tumblr here!

HEY YOU! YEAH YOU. THANK YOU.

Billboard Battle Of The Bands. Opportunity of a lifetime. Memories forever.

Before the moment arrives, I just wanted to thank everyone who got me this far. During round one, I was against two other bands in my region. You guys had to VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE. And it was nervewracking. I wanted to make it to the final rounds so bad. And after a way-to-long few weeks, I got a call saying I won. Then I had about two months to count down the roadtrip to Vegas.

First of all, the road trip to Vegas was one of the coolest experiences ever. My band and I drove in a Chevy Cruze and it had my NAME ON IT. I know right? Cray Cray. The whole journey to Vegas was unforgettable. Once we drove in to Vegas, it finally hit me. I was going to be performing on Friday for a HUGE show for a HUGE opportunity. Nothing ever really hits me until the day of or a few days before in this industry. It’s an up and down roller coaster and can be pretty tough at times. That’s why I’m so incredibly thankful to be apart of this Billboard Battle Of The Bands. Of COURSE I wanna win, but whatever happens, happens. And I am just so happy and blessed to of made it this far.

If you don’t live in Vegas, and can’t come to the Free Battle, watch it online; FRIDAY 8PM PST on Billboard.com/Battle & PLEASE leave tons of comments on my page ‘ http://www.billboard.com/features/northwest-battle-of-the-bands-2012-1006354952.story#/features/northwest-battle-of-the-bands-2012-1006354952.story ’ because every single comment counts as a vote. I am so thankful for your support thus far, but you still gotta push! We can do this! When you tune into the stream tomorrow, there will be a voting poll, so make sure you vote like CRAZY.

Again, thank you thank you thank you. I know I say it too much and you probably get tired of it, but get used to it ;) Because you all deserve every single thank you in the world. I am forever grateful.

Let’s win this thangggggggg!

xoxo Savannah

Roadtripping with the band

Savannah and her band has arrived in Las Vegas for their big gig tonight, the Billboard Battle Of The Bands. While making the drive from Hillsboro, Oregon to Las vegas, Nevada, Savannah has a camera crew following her. And they just posted their first video on Savannah’s roadtrip. Savannah also uploaded a video on her 2nd Youtube Channel, MoreSavannah, that they arrived in Vegas two days ago. Check them out below!

“Take a Chance” song title!

Savannah recently announced that she would play the role of Amanda in the movie “Take a Chance”. Amanda is the best friend of Cynthia, one of the main roles. Savannah have written and recorded three songs for this role, and now we have some new information for you!

Look at what PRWeb had to say;

Starring in his first U.S. film, Mackenyu Maeda, son of the legendary Sonny Chiba, plays the lead role, “Masa,” and Cassie Scerbo (ABC’s “Make It or Break It”) plays “Cynthia,” an American southern belle and Masa’s love interest. The film tells the story of an unmotivated and wayward young high school student from a wealthy Japanese family whose father sends him to America to study as an Uchi Deshi under a renowned karate master to be played by Saiko Shihan Oyama (Founder of World Oyama Karate). Take A Chance, centers on events surrounding Masa’s rise from ambiguity to clarity in the value of friendships, hard work, and an unyielding conviction to persevere

Savannah Outen plays Amanda, Cynthia’s best friend, and also performs three songs for the film’s soundtrack, including the piercing ballad, “Rise Up.” Outen has topped music charts on Radio Disney since 2007 and has now over 380,000 subscribers and more than 77 million Youtube views.

Are you excited to hear Savannah’s song “Rise Up”?

Mother’s day plans

Today is mother’s day, and let me start off by saying happy mother’s day to Savannah’s mom Lisa and all the other mother’s out there!

HollywoodTeenZine chattet with a ton of young stars and asked them what they were doing for their mother’s this mother’s day, and Savannah shared her plans too! Check it out below:

“Is Anybody Out There”

Here we go with another cover up on Youtube! This time Savannah sings with two of her fellow Keep Your Soul Records‘ artists and friends, Caitlin Hart and Jake Coco! They take on the song “Is Anybody Out There” by K’naan and Nelly Furtado. Remember that you can get this song and 5 others in Savannah’s EP of covers up on iTunes. You can find it here!

Savannah’s role in “Take A Chance”

Savannah has landed a movie role! She will be playing the role of Amanda in the movie Take A Chance coming out in 2013. She will also be writing and recording 3 songs for the movie. One of them she wrote herself, but the two others she cowrote with the director. Her role, Amanda, is the best friend of Cynthia. Amanda loves singing.

Here’s what the movie is about:

The story follows Masa (Mackenyu Meada) an attractive, charismatic, privileged 16 year old Japanese high school student. In order to establish some discipline in his life, his father sends him to a close-friend and karate master in the United States to study as an Uchi Deshi– a dedicated student of martial arts. With American dreams of New York, Hollywood, and Disney World dancing in his head, Masa is rudely awakened to his new home…Alabama…and, to his uber-strict existence as a 24/7 martial arts warrior-in-training. While there, he meets Cynthia (Cassie Scerbo), the beautiful, spunky whirlwind of girl who isn’t your typical southern belle. They form a close friendship that evolves to young love.

Now we just have to wait for more information!

Interview with LosAngelesBR

Savannah recently did an interview with the Brazilian website, LosAngelesBR. I don’t know portuguese, but I will translate some of the questions and answers below. If you want to go check out the entire interview, it can be found at LosAngelesBR.com.

(Google Translate was used for this and I can’t promise this will all be correct)

Q: You will join the cast of the movie “Take a Chance,” playing Amanda, tell us a bit about the film and this character?

A: “I’m super excited about the movie! I’m playing Amanda, a small town girl from Alabama who loves singing and is the best friend of Cynthia, played by Cassie Scerbo. The story is based on real events and is a best seller in Japan. I’m super excited to be part of this project! ”

Q: How did you discover that became part of the cast?

A: “Actually, they wanted me to interpret Cynthia, but unfortunately the recording period did not fit with my itinerary, so I had to leave. But there they were up to me and said they would love to have me in the movie, then they gave the role of Amanda to me! She was already in the script but did not speak, so now Cynthia can have a girlfriend! And I’ll sing and write three songs for the film. ”

Q: Then we learned that you’ll write three songs for the film. Are they ready? Could you show us a preview?

A: “Yes! I am very happy to do so. I wrote one myself and two others with the director, Michael. It was so much fun and I’m very proud of the songs. They have great messages and I think you all will enjoy them. ”

Q: You want to record an EP? Do you already have it all figured out?

A: “YES. That’s the plan. I can not wait to launch the new songs I wrote. ”
